What is a Mastermind Group?
I googled it.
A mastermind group is:
“…[people who] come together on a regular basis—weekly, biweekly, or monthly—to share ideas, thoughts, information, feedback, contacts, and resources.” (1)
“…a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your business and personal skills.” (2)
You can also find several articles, like this one, explaining the benefits of being in a mastermind.
In 2019, I joined my first mastermind group not knowing what to expect. Not knowing anyone in the group. Not sure of what I would get out of it. Not sure how I would pay for it. Not sure if it would be worth it. Like some things in life, it must have entered my universe at just the right moment, because I knew I needed some outside perspective but I had no idea how to get it.
It was such a great experience, and it sent me on a deeper search inward, to learn more about what makes me tick. And the more self-awareness I gained, the more I wanted to share this journey with others. The more I felt encouraged to lead my very own mastermind group.
In 2020, I launched my first “mini-mastermind” group students for 8 weeks. 11 students signed up. They told me that after being a part of this group, they felt less alone. More confident. More supported.
Also in 2020, I offered another mini-mastermind group to pharmacist faculty and 7 signed up. They told me that they had gained a clearer vision of what’s important, what’s relevant, and what’s next for them.
My definition of a mastermind? A group that offers community, accountability, and support by all participants, including guided facilitation and coaching from the organizer (that’s me!).
I’m excited to offer this redesigned 8-week mini-mastermind program to any interested pharmacist! I’ve organized the concepts into five Start Here modules, and group coaching is the foundational element. If you know someone who may be interested, please direct them to this link and ask them to email me to sign up!
I’m on a mission to make a bigger impact in pharmacy, and I believe it will start with meeting with other great minds in small circles. The ripple of impact will grow; but right now I’m focusing on six individuals who are ready to hit the reset button. I know who they are because I was there, in 2019, and the mastermind group gave me the support to think differently. Let’s go!
